Urlati is situated in a hilly area, on
Cricovu Sarat Valley, where the plain
crosses Dealu Mare Vineyard, 21 km far
from the center of Ploiesti.
Urlati town was first documentary certified
in April 1515. Dealu Mare Vineyard has
a long and rich tradition, its existence
being certified in a chronicle from 1705.
At the end of 1999, Prahova Winecellars
restored the mansion and the cellar, showing
to the world the charm of the liquid -
gold, by organizing wine tasting.
Urlateanu Winery is placed in a natural
and quiet frame, where the visitor may
become oneself again for a while.
Urlateanu Winery is richly rewarded with
extensive underground cellars, ensuring
excellent conditions for the maturation
of red wines in French and Romanian barrels.
These wines proceed from Dealu Mare, region
that has the potential to produce the
best red grapes in Romania. Dealu Mare
Vineyard is situated in sub - Carpathians
hills and has a sunny land and a fertile
soil. It is well known as "the country
of red wines".
